Transfer Rater: Jack Wilshere to Real Betis, Cenk Tosun to Crystal Palace

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Nakhi Wells to Burnley

Despite staying up last season, Burnley scored the fourth-fewest amount of goals in the Premier League. Indeed, with 39 in 38 fixtures, they barely hit one per game. This explains their desire to add firepower up front on deadline day, and Wells could be their latest addition. Chris Wood has already arrived from Leeds United to provide extra aerial threat, but Wells could give Sean Dyche's side something different with his pace. BBC Sport report that the Huddersfield Town finisher is in talks over a £5m move to Turf Moor.

Jack Colback to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Colback could become Wolves' 15th signing of the summer transfer window as he looks to find first-team football. The former Sunderland man has fallen out of favour at Newcastle United and could drop down to the Championship in order to get game time. According to the Daily Mail, Hull City are also interested but the 27-year-old midfielder is intrigued by Wolves' ambition.

Cenk Tosun to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are one of two Premier League teams (the other being Brighton) not to have scored a single goal in the opening three fixtures of the campaign. Evidently more options are needed in attack, and Tosun could solve the problem. The 26-year-old found the net 24 times in 47 outings across all competitions in 2016-17, helping Besiktas to the Turkish Super Lig title in the process. Now Turkish outlet Skorer report that he could be on his way to Selhurst Park for a £10m fee, with a £2m per year contract on the table. However, competition for his signature could come from Newcastle.

Marvin Zeegelaar to Watford

Watford remain keen on reinforcing at left-back after a move for Kieran Gibbs fell through. Zeegelaar is the latest target to give competition to current first-choice, Jose Holebas. Reports in Portugal suggest the Dutchman, who has been training away from the first-team of late, could leave Sporting Lisbon for as little as €3m. The 27-year-old has previously been called into the Netherlands national team but has yet to make his international bow.

Jack Wilshere to Real Betis

Wilshere needs a move to revive a stalled career. His time at Arsenal looks up after an unspectacular loan spell with Bournemouth last term failed to convince. He has been persistently linked with a multitude of clubs on the continent, including Italian giants AC Milan and Roma, but a move to Spain could be on the cards. Estadio Deportivo report that the Englishman could join Real Betis. The player is not seen as a priority for the La Liga side, but his talent, along with the fact his contract is up next summer, reportedly interests them.
