Transfer Rater: Lucas Moura to Monaco, Ben Gibson to Manchester City

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Lucas Moura to Monaco

According to Sky Italia, Kylian Mbappe is close to joining Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan. The 18-year-old French attacker would make the move permanent next summer with financial fair play restricting PSG from making Mbappe a full-time member of their squad. The Ligue 1 giants have offered Liverpool target Moura as part of the deal and the Brazilian is tempted by the move. If he wants to break into the Brazil World Cup 2018 squad he needs to be playing regularly.

Dennis Praet to Newcastle United

The 23-year-old Belgian is on Rafael Benitez's radar as the Spaniard attempts to bring in reinforcements after two losses from two in the Premier League. Calciomercato claim a £12.8 million deal is on the table for Praet and that Sampdoria are willing to sell after the former Anderlecht man disappointed in his debut season in Italy.

Ben Gibson to Manchester City

Man City have shelved plans to sign Jonny Evans after West Brom demanded £30m for the former Manchester United centre-back. Pep Guardiola, eager to add defensive reinforcements to his squad, has turned his attention to Middlesbrough's Gibson and, according to reports in the Independent, are willing to pay £20m for the 24-year-old's services.

Claudio Marchisio to Chelsea

Chelsea are set to reignite their long-standing interest in Marchisio which could see them end their pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Marchisio no longer feels like a key part of manager Massimiliano Allegri's plans and he is unhappy. Reuniting with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could give Marchisio the adrenaline shot he feels his career needs.

Kevin Wimmer to Crystal Palace

There's a scramble for Tottenham centre-back Wimmer. The 24-year-old Austrian was a top target for West Brom and Stoke City, with both clubs plotting £18m moves. However, Crystal Palace have joined the race for the former Cologne defender and according to the Daily Mail, see him as a cheaper alternative to Mamadou Sakho.
