          TOP STORY: Monaco launch shock Alexis move

          The Sun reports that Monaco are ready to make a shock £45 million offer for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.

          With just one year remaining on his deal at the Emirates, the Chile international has been linked with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

          But he could instead move to Monaco, who are ready to tempt him by offering £300,000-per-week wages after tax.

          After selling Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy, Monaco appear ready to hit back with a mega-purchase of their own, with £150m having been raised from sales.

          22.27 BST: Rumoured to be the man Barcelona eye to replace Neymar, Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele has responded to the prospect of joining the Catalan club.

          "[Barcelona] is a great club and all players would like to play at a club like that," Metro cites Gol as the 20-year-old saying. "It is a pleasure to be able to see your name on the list of players who Barcelona want. We'll be calm and see what happens."

          22.05 BST: DONE DEAL Manchester City have announced that Fernando has joined Turkish side Galatasaray on a permanent deal. Full story.

          21.42 BST: Watford's Nathaniel Chalobah rejected a new contract at Chelsea after concluding he needed to leave to secure first-team football.

          "I was offered a new contract but I decided to leave and hopefully get opportunities [at Watford]," he said. "I wanted to be part of [Watford] again and I wanted to feel like I belong somewhere.

          "No disrespect to Chelsea but when I was here first time I did feel as if I was involved quite a bit and I did get opportunities."

          20.58 BST: DONE DEAL Hellas Verona have confirmed the signing of 30-year-old defender Martin Caceres on a yearlong loan from Lazio, who themselves just acquired the Uruguayan from Juventus.

          20.26 BST: DONE DEAL Championship club Preston North End have confirmed the signing of Arsenal forward and England U19 international Stephy Mavididi on a season-long loan.

          20.10 BST: DONE DEAL Orlando City SC has signed 27-year-old Peru international midfielder Yoshimar Yotun from Swedish side Malmo to a designated player contract.

          19.53 BST: Twenty-year-old Juventus midfielder Rolando Mandragora is set to join Crotone on a season-long loan, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

          19.37 BST: DONE DEAL Brighton & Hove Albion have signed 21-year-old Viktoria Plzen right-back Ales Mateju for an undisclosed fee to a three-year contract.

          19.19 BST: Netherlands manager Dick Advocaat hopes that his Oranje centre-back is sold by Southampton this summer. "You can condemn [Van Dijk's actions], but come on, if you can earn five times as much at a top English club then I understand that," the Daily Mail quotes him as saying.

          19.03 BST: Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi has agreed a loan move to Preston North End, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

          18.46 BST: West Ham are preparing an opening offer for Juventus' 23-year-old midfielder Mario Lemina, whom the Serie A champions are willing to sell for a fee of €20m, according to CalcioMercato.

          18.30 BST: Inter Milan are closing in on agreeing personal terms with Borussia Dortmund forward Emre Mor, writes Gianluca Di Marzio, with the Italian giants set to agree a €2m season-long loan with an option to buy at €10m plus bonuses.

          18.14 BST: Sticking with Chelsea, perhaps their newfound confidence in landing Virgil van Dijk can help explain Tuttosport's report that the Premier League champions could part with 21-year-old centre-back Andreas Christensen in a player-exchange deal with Inter that would bring 30-year-old winger Antonio Candreva to Stamford Bridge.

          17.57 BST: With Southampton still furious with Liverpool over their courtship of Virgil van Dijk, and the Dutch defender's continued desire to leave the South Coast club, the London Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea are hopeful a £50m bid plus add-ons can convince Saints to sell and Van Dijk to move to London instead of his preferred destination of Merseyside.

          17.41 BST: DONE DEAL U.S. international Rubio Rubin has joined Norwegian side Stabaek after his contract at FC Utrecht expired.

          17.25 BST: Paris Saint-Germain may have just handed over a world-record transfer fee for Neymar, but they're not stopping their spending there, says talkSPORT. The Ligue 1 club will now turn their attention to Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, who has a £36 million release clause and is also being tracked by Arsenal.

          16.24 BST: Burnley have handed defender Kevin Long a new three-year contract...

          16.05 BST: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has also spoken about the future of Diego Costa, suggesting again that he will be leaving the club. "For me, it's very simple, the situation," he said. "I repeat what I said in the past: the player, his agent and the club knew very well the future of the player in the summer. They knew very well."

          15.47 BST: Following the €222 million transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain, it has been reported that Barcelona could turn their attentions to Eden Hazard, but Antonio Conte is confident he will remain a Chelsea player.

          He told a news conference: "We are trying to buy players, not sell them. Otherwise the number is always less and we are in trouble. But I think these are rumours and Eden is very happy to stay with us and play with Chelsea, start the new season with us and recover from his injury. I think so."

          15.27 BST: DONE DEAL Stuttgart have completed the signing of free agent Holger Badstuber on a one-year deal following his release by Bayern Munich... Badstuber played in Stuttgart's youth teams from 2000 until 2002 before moving to Bayern. Full story.

          15.17 BST: Watford are in talks with Everton over a possible deal for winger Aaron Lennon, sources close to the Hornets have told ESPN FC. Everton would prefer to sell Lennon on a permanent basis, but Watford are exploring a loan deal with a view to a permanent move. Full story.

          15.05 BST: DONE DEALYoung Bournemouth winger Ben Whitfield has joined League Two Port Vale on loan until January.

          14.35 BST: Former Leicester defender James Pearson, the son of ex-Foxes' manager Nigel Pearson, has joined Midlands neighbours Coventry after a successful loan spell.

          14.23 BST: Barcelona have made contact with Real Sociedad as they look to push through a deal for Inigo Martinez, the Basque club have confirmed. However, Barca may have to pay Martinez's reported €32 million buyout clause after Sociedad sporting director Loren Juarros said his club have no plans to sell him during the window. Full story.

          14.10 BST: West Brom and Everton are set to battle it out for the signing of Sassuolo striker Diego Falcinelli, according to The Sun. Falcinelli, who had a successful loan stint at Crotone last season, is reportedly valued at £10m.

          13.55 BST: The Birmingham Mail reports that Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp still hopes to sign Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing despite progress on a move having stalled recently.

          13.35 BST: DONE DEAL Widely-travelled striker Robbie Keane has joined Indian Super League club Atletico de Kolkata, managed by Teddy Sheringham, and said: "At this stage of my career, the offer to experience a new league and culture appealed to me."

          13.30 BST: From world record signings in Paris to goings-on at Stuttgart, who had been expected to announce the signing of former Germany international Holger Badstuber but have instead revealed the departure of sporting executive Jan Schindelmeiser. It remains to be seen whether Schindelmeiser moving on has an effect on Badstuber's transfer.

          Onomah played only 18 minutes of Premier League football in five short cameos last season and is behind at least four other players in his favoured central midfield role.

          10.00 BST: Borussia Dortmund boss Peter Bosz says he is not worried by rumours Barcelona will make a huge bid for Ousmane Dembele following the departure of Neymar.

          Barca are expected to bring in another forward following Neymar's €222 million move to Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday and have been linked with players including Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Kylian Mbappe and Paulo Dybala.

          09.45 BST: DONE DEAL The first deal of the day is brought to you by League One Blackburn Rovers, who have signed Middlesbrough's England under-20 winger Harry Chapman on loan for the season.

          09.40 BST: Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral has said he is unsure whether he will play next season but hopes a lack of centre-forward options will keep him in coach Zinedine Zidane's plans.

          Madrid youth product Mayoral, 20, has long been tipped to become a senior star, but struggled on loan at Wolfsburg last season and scored only two goals.

          09.35 BST: Have Roma given up hope of signing Riyad Mahrez? Sporting director Monchi appears less confident that the Leicester City star would be arriving soon, telling reporters: "I don't know if Mahrez or somebody else will come but, whoever arrives, he will be a big player able to add quality to an already magnificent squad."

          09.15 BST: Everton and Bournemouth look set to do battle for the signature of Leicester's Demarai Gray, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Bournemouth have made the first move and seen a £20m offer turned down.

          09.05 BST: To France, where things other than Neymar are happening, you know -- L'Equipe reports that forward Rachid Ghezzal, out of contract at Lyon and interesting both Stoke and Southampton, is set to join Monaco.

          08.50 BST: Tottenham will loan England under-20 midfielder Joshua Onomah to Aston Villa after Villa midfielder Jack Grealish suffered a preseason injury that could rule him out until Christmas, the Mirror reports.

          08.40 BST: Inter Milan are close to making Nice defender Dalbert their first major signing of the summer, but sporting director Piero Ausilio has said his arrival would not mean the departures of Ivan Perisic or Antonio Candreva.

          08.25 BST: RB Leipzig's Sweden international winger Emil Forsberg, heavily linked with a move this summer, has said he is staying put and told reporters: "I am putting all thoughts about a transfer behind me. Every footballer has dreams, but I don't want to be distracted. My focus is on RB Leipzig."

          08.15 BST: Reports in Italy suggest Atletico Madrid centre-back Jose Gimenez could be in line for a move to Juventus, with representatives of the Serie A club having held discussions with his agent.

          08.00 BST: Liverpool have been linked with plenty of players over the course of the summer, but here's a more left-field one: French newspaper Le Telegramme, which cites "an English source," says the Merseysiders could make a €17m offer for Rennes midfielder Benjamin Andre.

          United on red alert for Bale

          Manchester United could make a sensational move for Gareth Bale, with the Star reporting that Real Madrid are prepared to let the Wales international leave.

          The former Tottenham star could soon become surplus to requirements, with Zinedine Zidane hoping to add Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe -- and Zidane would rather not have four galacticos competing for three spots up front.

          While Bale is happy in Madrid, the prospect of a lack of first-team football -- especially with Wales still hoping for a place at next summer's World Cup -- could persuade the 28-year-old to return to the Premier League.

          Spurs eye Simeone as first summer signing

          Tottenham have been patient this summer, refusing to spend while rivals have splashed the cash, but could finally make their move.

          The Mirror reports that striker Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, is a target after scoring 12 Serie A goals for Genoa last season. Crystal Palace, Fiorentina and Torino are also interested.

          Spurs may also move for Schalke star Max Meyer, with the club keen to restart talks now that he has just one year left on his contact.

          Negotiations took place last summer, when the 21-year-old would have cost £30m, but Spurs now sense a bargain and may move late in the window.

          Juve eye Garay from Valencia

          Juventus are looking to sign Ezequiel Garay from Valencia, Tuttosport reports, in a bid to replace Leonardo Bonucci after he joined AC Milan.

          The Bianconeri also want Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo, with the La Liga club keen to bring in midfielder Mario Lemina in return.

          But reports in Italy say Juve have other targets too, with Schalke's Leon Goretzka and Real Madrid maestro Mateo Kovacic also in their sights.

          Tap-ins

          - West Ham will push to sign Lamine Kone -- but Sunderland want £20m and that could scupper the move, the Mirror reports.

          The centre-back's arrival could spell an exit for Winston Reid, with the New Zealand international linked with a move to Everton.

          - Former Southampton centre-back Martin Caceres is set to return to football with Hellas Verona, though Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio believes Lazio could get there first.

          The Biancocelesti could sign the Uruguayan for €5m in January or next summer to boost their back line.
