Chelsea could move for Bayern's Lewandowski as Lukaku hope fades

The football world is awash with gossip! Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals and potential deals here.

Chelsea in for Lewandwoski

In a summer transfer window of blockbuster signings, Chelsea have been rather quiet after clinching the Premier League title.

Theories include the kit sponsor transition and quarrelling between Antonio Conte and the board, but that could all be about to be forgotten if the Blues follow through with interest in Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski.

The Mirror reports that Chelsea are looking to capitalise on a fallout between the Poland striker and the club due to a lack of support from his team and manager Carlo Ancelotti in pursuit of the top goal scorer title.

A record of 77 goals in 96 Bundesliga games since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2014 makes the 28-year-old an attractive alternative to Romelu Lukaku due to Everton's lofty £100 million price tag.

However, Lewa probably would cost a similar amount to Lukaku and with the Blues reluctant to pay over the odds for older forwards, Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti could be more attractive. Alexis Sanchez would also be much better value at around £50m if Chelsea could lure him away from Arsenal.

And with Chelsea diversifying their attacking targets, Bayern Munich and Manchester United could be the ones to steal in for Lukaku, claims the Mirror.

While Everton's huge suggested fee for their talisman is thought to be unrealistic, United's and Bayern's interest could push the eventual fee up to around £90m.

The 24-year-old hit a career-high 25 Premier League goals last term and is seen as the ideal replacement for Diego Costa, who has been told he is not needed at Stamford Bridge next season.

Galaxy could move for Gignac

With a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic looking unlikely, the LA Galaxy have reportedly set their sights on another striker: Tigres hitman Andre-Pierre Gignac.

Gignac, who has scored 53 goals since moving to Mexico in 2015 and helped Tigres win back-to-back Apertura titles, has been hanging out in L.A. this week with fellow Frenchman Romain Alessandrini.

And Mexico's Medio Tiempo says the Galaxy are toying with the idea of paying Gignac's release clause of $25 million, a massive price for an MLS club.

U.S.-based Metro says the Galaxy have offered $6 million for the 31-year-old, so there still appears to be plenty left to negotiate.

Spurs set £45m Walker price tag

Manchester City are in the midst of revamping their squad in an unprecedented spending spree this summer with full-backs as important as any position.

Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad and Pep Guardiola remains keen despite being close to signing Dani Alves from Juventus.

Spurs have demanded £45m for the England international, according to the Star.

The London club will reportedly not budge on that figure either, meaning the ball is now in City's court as to whether they will cough up the money for the 27-year-old.

Tap-ins

- West Brom will offer Jonny Evans a huge £100,000-per-week contract to fend off interest from Leicester, reports the Star.

The Northern Ireland international will be handed a four-year deal worth £20m in total after rejecting the Foxes' £10m offer and it is thought that a bid of at least £30m would be required to sign the former Manchester United defender.

- Swansea have won the race to sign highly-rated Chelsea starlet Tammy Abraham with a season-long loan expected to be finalised soon, according to the Mirror.

After scoring 23 Championship goals for Bristol City last year, the England Under-21 international is in high demand, but the presence of former Blues No. 2 Paul Clement at the Liberty Stadium has proved decisive to beat out Newcastle for Abraham.

- Arsenal have rejected a £4m bid from Juventus for Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, claims the Sun, with the Gunners demanding £13m.

Szczesny impressed on loan at Roma last season but a route to first-team football at the Emirates still appears remote, meaning a permanent departure appears probable.

- Inter are stepping up interest in Fiorentina midfield maestro Borja Valero, reports Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Luciano Spalletti wanted the Spanish playmaker during his time at Roma and may finally land the 32-year-old with the report detailing the Nerazzurri have "optimism" a deal can be done.
