Transfer Rater: Bakayoko to Chelsea, Onyekuru to Arsenal

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Tiemoue Bakayoko to Chelsea

According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea are the likeliest next destination for Monaco midfielder Bakayoko. The 22-year-old recently dismissed rumours linking him to Paris Saint-Germain, saying: "I can't leave for a club that has finished behind me." The Frenchman's representatives are said to have held talks with a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool, but the English champions are favourites to sign him.

Jermain Defoe to Bournemouth

Defoe is set to re-join Bournemouth in the summer, according to the Daily Telegraph. The striker, who enjoyed a loan spell with the club in 2000-01, was contractually allowed to leave Sunderland on a free transfer following their relegation, and the Cherries have leapfrogged another of his former clubs, West Ham United, in the race for his signature. The 34-year-old hit 15 Premier League goals this term.

Joe Hart to Leicester City

Leicester have emerged as prime candidates to sign Hart, according to The Times. The English goalkeeper is set to return to his home country following a season-long loan spell with Torino, and it is believed he could join the Foxes as part of a swap deal that sees Kasper Schmeichel move to Manchester City. Hart was a member of the fourth-worst backline in Serie A this season, as Torino conceded 63 goals in 38 league games.

Henry Onyekuru to Arsenal

Arsenal are believed to be keen to beat competition from multiple other Premier League clubs, including Southampton, Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace, to sign highly rated Nigerian forward Onyekuru. The promising 19-year-old scored an impressive 23 goals in 38 league games for Belgian top tier side Eupen this season and is set for bigger things. It is reported there is a £6.8 million release clause in the player's contract.

Michy Batshuayi to Newcastle United

After an underwhelming debut campaign with Chelsea, Batshuayi could attempt to revive his career by moving to newly promoted Premier League side Newcastle United on loan, according to the Daily Mirror. The 23-year-old Belgian made just one league start for Antonio Conte's side, but could receive more game time were he to join the Magpies.
