Real Madrid could make €45 million bid for Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi

The winter window gets closer with each passing day and the transfer rumour mill is starting to pick up steam. As always, Transfer Talk has the latest and greatest. See all the summer deals here.

TOP STORY: Real to move for Icardi?

Anytime Real Madrid come calling, players usually listen. In this case, it's Mauro Icardi's ears that might be burning, as Gazetta World are reporting that Rafa Benitez's club are interested in the Inter Milan starlet.

Icardi, 22, was dropped from the squad for last Saturday's 1-0 win against Roma that saw Roberto Mancini's club go even on points with Fiorentina atop of the Serie A table.

The Argentine had a breakout campaign last season, but this year he has struggled to score for the Nerazzurri. That reality, and his exclusion from Mancini's XI against Roma, has led to speculation that Inter might let the forward go.

Enter Real Madrid, who are said to be ready to offer as much as €45 million to Inter to let the former Sampdoria player join los Blancos in January.

Miazga drawing Premier League interest

The New York Red Bulls have won the Supporters' Shield, lead their Eastern Conference semifinal tie and are odds-on favourites to win the MLS Cup in December. A large reason for that has been the play of centre-back Matt Miazga, who is quickly becoming one of the best defenders in MLS.

The interesting thing about that is the U.S. youth international only turned 20 in July and received his first senior international call-up on Friday. Considering such plaudits, it should come as no surprise that the Polish-American has drawn interest from the Premier League.

FourFourTwo reports that Miazga has been the subject of transfer interest of Stoke City, Leicester and even Chelsea but opted to remain in New York for the growth of his game. It can't be much longer before that list of interested clubs grows.
