Wednesday proved to be a rare old day for Arsenal managers past and present as both Unai Emery and Arsene Wenger got to strut their stuff on the pitch.
With a home tie against Leicester City coming up and a winning streak to uphold, Emery took a very hands-on approach to Arsenal's midweek training session.
The 46-year-old actually took part in the session himself, testing his mettle on the pitch against several of his players, including Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin.
Emery was a decent player in his day, though spent most of his career playing in the Spanish second tier after failing to make the grade at Real Sociedad as a youngster.
Later in the day, Wenger also laced up his boots and returned to action.
The ex-Gunners boss took part in a charity match in Gueugnon that saw a team of the club's former players turn out at their Stade Jean-Laville in front of a crowd of 10,000 fans.
Wenger was joined by several big-named contemporaries with 1998 World Cup-winners Didier Deschamp, Laurent Blanc and Christian Karembeu also making appearances on the night, as was 1984 European Championship hero Alain Giresse.
According to L'Equipe, Wenger played for nearly an hour in a game that was organised to aid a number of charities. Wenge played in defence in an entertaining game and the final score was 5-5.
The 68-year-old recently announced that, four months after bringing his Arsenal odyssey to an end, he feels sufficiently rested and is therefore ready to stage a grand return to football in January.
He doesn't mean as a player, surely? Surely!
