Brazil's Neymar has new World Cup hairdo compared to noodles on social media

Brazil kicked off their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on Sunday evening but the big point of discussion going into the game was the latest creation atop Neymar's head.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker debuted a stirring new look for his tournament debut, arriving in Moscow with a primped and preened new hairstyle to show unto everybody.

Straight off the bat, some particularly pithy observers couldn't help but notice that Neymar's newly-blonde tresses bore a passing resemblance to a portion of quick-cook noodles, leading to a superb three-dimensional sight gag that did the rounds on social media during the match.

Others went down the retro pop music avenue, with Emeli Sande, Justin Timberlake, The Thompson Twins and George Michael all cited as potential inspirations.

There were even parallels drawn between Neymar's voluminous, heavily-lacquered quiff and that belonging to a certain prominent world leader.

Elsewhere, Gary Lineker stumbled across what he suspected to be evidence of Neymar's latest cut, while Eric Cantona was not impressed.

While others were left to ponder if, much like President Trump's infamous coif, Neymar's statement 'do has the potential to become sentient in its own right.

A truly terrifying thought for all concerned.

Unfortunately, Neymar's carefully choreographed new hairstyle wasn't enough to inspire Brazil to victory in their opening game as Selecao could only muster a 1-1 draw against the Swiss.
