Poland put Robert Lewandowski's stamp on 2018 World Cup

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski is certain to stamp his mark on the 2018 World Cup in more ways than one.

Lewandowski, 29, has been rewarded for his achievements with his own commemorative stamp which came into circulation on the opening day of the tournament.

Poland's all-time top scorer, Lewandowski bagged a remarkable 16 goals from 10 games in his team's World Cup qualifying campaign, setting a European qualifying record.

Five million stamps of the Poland captain were printed -- at 6 Zloty or €1.40 each -- certainly a few hundred million less than the prolific Bayern Munich striker's current transfer value.

Poland take on Senegal in their opening game on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, World Cup fever has spread to Lewandowski's homeland with the supermarkets displaying a nice red and white assortment of fruit and vegetables.

What an inspiring AND nutritious way to support your country at the World Cup!
