Burnley boss Sean Dyche gets pub named after him following dream season

If everything goes according to plan, Burnley fans will soon be able to celebrate another fine season by sinking prematch pints in a pub bearing their manager's name.

Back in November, the Royal Princess pub, which is situated around the corner from Turf Moor, promised to rebrand their establishment if Sean Dyche successfully led his team to Europa League qualification.

Sure enough, a 0-0 draw against Brighton at the weekend saw the Clarets all but lock down seventh place in the Premier League.

This allowed Royal Princess landlady Justine Lorriman to begin putting her grand plan into action.

"I don't know if I am more excited about getting into Europe or renaming the pub," she told BBC Sport.

"I am going to the player awards next week and hoping to catch him (Dyche), just to make sure we can get his blessing."

The Burnley boss has previously joked that he wishes the pub to be rechristened "The Handsome Ginger Fella", though it seems "The Royal Dyche" is the proprietor's current homage of choice.

Either way, we can hardly think of an honour more fitting!
