Cristiano Ronaldo's pitch invaders revealed as Swiss comedians

The two pitch invaders who hugged and kissed Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal's friendly against Netherlands in Geneva on Monday might have looked familiar to Swiss comedy lovers.

Swiss comedian Samir Alic and his cohort Carmine raced onto the pitch during the second half of the European champions' 3-0 defeat to embrace the Real Madrid superstar.

"We're going to go onto the pitch," Carmine yelled while filming himself vaulting the barriers. "Come on, let's go. Go! Go! Go! We're going to touch Ronaldo, boys!"

After approaching the clearly unamused Ronaldo and planting a kiss on his cheek, Carmine turned his phone to catch Alic, wearing a Real Madrid sweatshirt, hugging the player, who measures some 30 centimetres taller than the Bosnian-born comic.

Alic is known in Switzerland for wearing "CR7" boxer shorts on stage, and they were again proudly on display as he was hauled off by security guards to a rousing reception from the Portuguese fans -- many of whom would surely have loved to have done the same thing.

"Bravo all the Portuguese supporters who encouraged us!" Alic wrote on Facebook.
