Fourth-division Spanish club CD Castellon are to make Felipe VI, the King of Spain, their 12,701st member. The club, based in the Valencian Community, are hoping set a record for followers in the fourth division. Real Oviedo had the biggest membership, listed at 12,700, in the 2004-05 season. "Few people know this but the truth is that Felipe VI, when he was prince of Asturias, was already named honorary member of Castellon, and it's for that reason that we have considered that this historic membership should be in the hands of the most illustrious orellut [Castellon fan]," Pepe Mascarell, the club's business director, told the club's website. Ex-Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, who played two seasons at Castellon, was awarded the honour of being the 10,001st club member in October. The club launched an advertising campaign, including a video titled "The best in life is in black and white," in honour of the team's colours in order to help set the record for members. Castellon, founded in 1922, last played in La Liga in 1990-91. They are joint leaders of Fourth Division Group 6 and are in contention to gain promotion to Segunda Division B.
