NBA legend, 'fan boy' Steve Nash drops in to Tottenham training

The red carpet was rolled out at Tottenham's training headquarters this week as the club were graced by visiting royalty -- NBA royalty, that is.

Indeed, former Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash dropped in to visit the football club he has supported all his life.

The 44-year-old self-confessed "fan boy" stayed to oversee a training session at Hotspur Way while posing for a raft of photos with various Spurs players.

Bunch of legends and a kid in his blue jacket. @spursofficial make a wish!

Nash was born into a Tottenham-supporting family, with both his English-born father and grandfather being ardent fans of the north London side.

"Spurs are in my blood," he said during his last visit to Tottenham.

Nash is a co-owner of the Vancouver Whitecaps as well as Spanish second-division side RCD Mallorca, and he has been hired by U.S.-based Turner Sports to serve as an analyst for its coverage of the UEFA Champions League beginning next season.
