Real Madrid fans vote for Cristiano Ronaldo to leave in online poll

They say there is not much gratitude in football -- but even still it is startling that two thirds of Real Madrid fans want rid of the club's all-time leading goal scorer, according to an online poll conducted by Spanish paper AS.

Since moving to Madrid in 2009, Ronaldo has scored 422 goals in 418 games, helped the team to 15 major trophies including three of the last four Champions Leagues, and brought glamour to the Bernabeu with a host of individual prizes including four of the five Ballon d'Or awards he has won in his career.

However with the 32-year-old reportedly demanding his wages are doubled [more or less] to around €50m a year, and sources confirming to ESPN FC that he wants to move in the summer, 67 percent of 125,000 respondents answered "No" when AS asked "Do you want Ronaldo to stay?" before the poll was closed.

Whether you blame the Bernabeu faithful's infamous hard-to-please attitude, or the player's apparent stubbornness in always asking for more, it is difficult now to see this relationship ending amicably.
