Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's royal wedding clashes with 2018 FA Cup final

After confirming their engagement last month, it's been revealed on Friday that Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle are to get married in the spring of 2018.

The royal wedding was officially announced as being planned for May 19, 2018 at Windsor Castle, so please add that to your diary accordingly.

While fans of the British monarchy may well be positively overjoyed by the news, it comes as an entirely less welcome revelation to football fans, largely because the royal wedding will now clash directly with the 2018 FA Cup final at Wembley.

"His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May, 2018," read a statement from Kensington Palace.

"Today's announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle."

You'd have thought that Prince William, a football fan and die-hard supporter of Aston Villa by all accounts, might have noticed something significant about the date.

The big question is, which occasion will Prince William, the president of the FA no less, choose to attend?
