Atalanta forward Papu Gomez's amazing dance goes viral

It's not a subject that tends to crop up regularly in pop music, but a song about the swaying hips of Atalanta club captain Alejandro "Papu" Gomez is taking the Italian streaming charts by storm.

Released just six months ago, "Dance Like Papu" -- a tribute to Gomez's trademark goal celebration -- has already amassed a whopping 30 million views on Youtube.

The song is a collaboration between DJ Matrix and comedy troupe Gli Autogol but also features Papu himself, demonstrating his iconic shimmy.

What's more, the "Dance Like Papu" phenomenon has also been recognised by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry, who awarded the titular Argentinian with his very own gold disk for selling more than 10,000 copies of the single.

"I may never win the Ballon d'Or, but at least I've won a gold record", reads the caption.

It should also be noted that all proceeds from the song will be donated to Insuperabili Onlus, a football academy for disabled children that operates throughout Italy.

Lovely stuff.
