Transfer Rater: Hugo Lloris to Real Madrid, Sergio Romero to Arsenal

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Nedum Onuoha to Burnley

Out of contract in the summer, the Queens Park Rangers captain has attracted some interest from the Lancashire club. Although he is 31, QPR are still hopeful he will sign a new deal at Loftus Road. However, he is one of the club's top earners and any new deal could involve a pay cut. Burnley could offer him Premier League football and a rewarding contract.

Hugo Lloris to Real Madrid

Sitting sixth in the Premier League, it could be another season of disappointment for Tottenham Hotspur. If the London club don't win a trophy, Lloris could leave for Spain. The France keeper turns 31 next month and if he wants to win trophies, he may need a move of this calibre. Zinedine Zidane hasn't been impressed with Keylor Navas, leading to the Spanish giants being linked with Lloris, David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois.

Sergio Romero to Arsenal

If Arsene Wenger has doubts over the longevity of Petr Cech, his potential replacement has been picked out according to reports. Bookmakers are linking Manchester United's Romero with a move to the Emirates. Unlikely to ever become first choice at Old Trafford, the Argentina international could fear for his World Cup place and a battle with Cech could bring him more minutes on the pitch rather than sitting behind De Gea.

Ivan Perisic to Manchester United

The one that got away. Yet, the Sun claim Jose Mourinho will try again to land Perisic in January for a fee of around £45 million. Despite signing a new five-year-deal after the summer move failed to materialise, the paper report it was merely to keep the Manchester United transfer target's value high, rather than tie him to the club. Inter lead the way in Serie A, two points ahead of champions Juventus. The 28-year-old has played every minute of the campaign and has seven goals and six assists. Safe to say the Milan giants won't let Perisic go without a fight.

Giannelli Imbula to Torino

Toulouse beat Caen 2-0 at the weekend and at the heart of their victory was Stoke City loanee Gianelli Imbula. The 25-year-old completed five dribbles, took two shots and made two clearances. According to reports in Italy, Torino are ready to try for a third time to land the midfielder. Stoke are holding out for £13m, but Torino want a loan deal with an option buy. For that to go through, the French side would have to terminate the season-long loan move with the Potters.
