Transfer Rater: Marouane Fellaini to Arsenal, Mario Balotelli to Lazio

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Kepa Arrizabalaga to Real Madrid

Real Madrid have emerged as frontrunners to sign highly rated Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa. Manchester United's David De Gea has long been a Real Madrid target but it looks as though Florentino Perez is now pursuing alternativs, with Kepa, 23, eyed as the ideal long-term option for the Champions League holders. Arsenal are also said to be interested in Kepa but the lure of Madrid may prove too strong.

Jack Wilshere to Real Betis

Real Betis are confident of luring Wilshere away from Arsenal with the promise of regular first-team football. The 25-year-old has been tipped to leave the Emirates when his £90,000-a-week contract expires at the end of the season and according to The Sun, the Spanish outfit are keen on completing what would be a significant coup. The playmaker remains quietly hopeful he can make Gareth Southgate's England squad for next summer's World Cup and may look to move in January in order to boost his chances.

Kevin Danso to Liverpool

Liverpool sent a scout to watch Austria international Danso during the international friendly with Uruguay this week. According to Austrian television channel Laola, there was a Reds representative in attendance, with the club keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old centre-back. Danso, who plays for Bundesliga side Augsburg, impressed by marking Edinson Cavani during a 2-1 win for Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium. The teenager could be a Liverpool target for Jurgen Klopp either in January or next summer.

Marouane Fellaini to Arsenal

Arsenal have emerged as shock candidates to sign the Manchester United midfielder, according to The Express. Fellaini could leave Old Trafford after refusing to renew his deal, which expires at the end of the season. The Belgium international is also subject of Besiktas and Inter Milan transfer rumours. Although Jose Mourinho has not given up hope of persuading the 29-year-old to stay, the former Everton man may be attracted to a new challenge, either with a Premier League rival or abroad.

Mario Balotelli to Lazio

The former Manchester City and Liverpool striker has dropped a hint about a potential move to Lazio by praising the club's head coach Simone Inzaghi. Balotelli is at Nice but his contract expires in the summer, with a return to Italy believed to be a strong possibility for the 27-year-old. "Simone Inzaghi? He's very good," the striker said during a Facebook Q&A. "Would I play for Lazio? I don't know, I'm at Nice right now." Inzaghi has led the Biancocelesti to fourth in Serie A, sitting just four points behind leaders Napoli, and will face fifth-placed Roma in the Derby della Capitale this Saturday.
