Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Anthony Ralston to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur may have spent over £70 million on defensive reinforcements this summer but Mauricio Pochettino is once again on the lookout for new faces. According to ESPN FC, Tottenham and Everton sent scouts to watch Celtic right-back Ralston during Scotland's U-21 win over Netherlands recently. It's topped off a stunning start to the new campaign for the 18-year-old.

Maxime Lopez to Barcelona

Barcelona may have finally found the heir to Xavi's throne. Reports in Mundo Deportivo suggest the La Liga club scouted Marseille's Lopez on a regular basis last season and the 19-year-old Frenchman drew comparisons to the former Barcelona great. The two clubs reportedly even held talks in August over a future transfer but an imminent move wasn't a topic of discussion at the time.

David Silva to Fenerbahce

The transfer window in Turkey is still open and, according to Turkish news outlet Hurriyet, Fenerbahce are plotting a sensational move to bring Manchester City playmaker David Silva to the club before the deadline. The report goes on to claim that there is an agreement in place between club and player and that it will be announced to the stock market.

Thomas Lemar to Arsenal

The Daily Mail believe Arsenal are pulling out all of the stops to bring Lemar to the club in January after failing to bring him in on deadline day. They claim the Premier League club have put together a package worth £92m to entice Monaco into selling halfway through the season as well as offering the 21-year-old £250,000-per-week in an attempt to convince him to forget about a potential move to Liverpool.

William Carvalho to West Ham

Despite the very public dispute between the owners of West Ham United and Sporting Lisbon, a deal for William Carvalho is still very much on the table according to reports in the Sun. West Ham are hopeful an improved New Year offer will be enough to see them land their top transfer target.
