Transfer Rater: Lazar Markovic to Fenerbahce, Sagna to Leicester

Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers for the summer. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Kieran Richardson to Southend

Former Manchester United and England star Kieran Richardson hasn't played since leaving Cardiff City over a year ago, but he could be about to pitch up at Southend United. In fact, the former Sunderland man has been training with the League One outfit, with Phil Brown so far impressed. "Kieran has looked fabulous in training," Brown said. "He wants to get a full week's training under his belt but we're in pole position to take him."

Baba Rahman to Galatasaray

The transfer window might have metaphorically slammed shut in England, but it remains open in Turkey until Sept. 8, and that could prompt an exit from Chelsea for full back Baba Rahman. The Ghanaian, who was an Everton transfer target earlier in the summer, has been exiled by Antonio Conte, left out of the Blues' Premier League squad, and so a fresh start at Galatasaray could be a good move for all concerned. The Istanbul club are also thought to be monitoring Kenedy if they are unsuccessful with Rahman.

Bacary Sagna to Leicester City

It was a busy summer at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola moulded his squad ahead of the new season. But one player who didn't fit the vision of the Catalan coach was Bacary Sagna, who could now he on his way to Leicester City. The French full-back, who has been linked with Southampton, is free to join another club as a free agent and the Foxes are considering the 34-year-old as someone to challenge Danny Simpson at right-back. They could face competition for Sagna's signature though, with Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Torino and Turkish duo Besiktas and Bursaspor all said to be keen on the ex-Arsenal defender.

Youssouf Mulumbu to Birmingham City

Harry Redknapp was left disappointed in his effort to sign former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Alex Song on deadline day, but the Birmingham City boss now appears to have switched targets, with Youssouf Mulumbu on his radar. The 30-year-old, who was among the Fulham transfer targets, is available on a free transfer after being released by Norwich City at the end of last season, and with Birmingham in need of a midfield anchor following the sale of Maikel Kieftenbeld, Mulumbu could be a good fit.

Lazar Markovic to Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are hoping to make the last week of the Turkish transfer window count with a move for Lazar Markovic. The Serbian international, who is a Watford target, has been frozen out at Liverpool, spending the second half of last season on loan at Hull City. Markovic has previously spent a season on loan at Fenerbahce and now the Istanbul club could return to sign the winger on another loan deal.
