Tottenham Hotspur will try to win their first game against Liverpool in all competitions in nearly five years when the two teams meet at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Spurs last defeated Liverpool on Nov. 28, 2012, a 2-1 win in which Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon scored. They have seven losses and three draws since then, with nine of those 10 games in the Premier League.
Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four away league games against Tottenham, with two victories, nine goals and one goal conceded during that span.
Tottenham have won just one of four Premier League games held this season at Wembley Stadium, their temporary home until their new stadium is ready next year.
Should Liverpool claim a victory on Sunday, it will be the 53rd different ground that they have won at -- extending their record of any club in the competition.
Although Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino won his first two games against Liverpool, picking up victories in March 2013 and September 2013 while with Southampton, he has failed to win any of his subsequent seven games, losing four and drawing three. Only against Chelsea, who have defeated his team five times, has Pochettino taken more losses.
The game will come nearly two years after Jurgen Klopp first coached in the Premier League -- which, coincidentally, was also against Tottenham, a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane on Oct. 17, 2015.
Since then, Liverpool have claimed 137 points in the Premier League -- but Tottenham Hotspur have taken 160, the most of any club.
While Tottenham's Harry Kane has scored six Premier League goals this season, he has not scored in either of his home Premier League appearances against Liverpool. He has, however, scored twice at Anfield.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah enters having scored eight goals in 13 games in all competitions since joining the club this past summer, and Philippe Coutinho has scored two goals in four Premier League appearances this season.
