D.C. United have signed Hungary international winger Zoltan Stieber from FC Kaiserslautern, the club announced on Wednesday. Stieber, 28, scored a goal and produced five assists in 19 league appearances with the 2. Bundesliga club last season. "We are thrilled to be getting a high-level player in the prime of his career with top level experience in the German Bundesliga and with the Hungarian national team," D.C. general manager Dave Kasper said in a club statement. "Zoltan is a technically gifted player who can play multiple attacking positions, is excellent in possession, creates chances at high rates and who works on both sides of the ball for 90 minutes." Stieber has made 21 appearances for his country, scoring three goals. Stieber has passages at Hamburg, Mainz and the Aston Villa Under-23 team, after beginning his career with Újpest FC.
