U.S. still first in FIFA women's rankings; England No. 2 ahead of Germany

The United States remain at the top of the FIFA women's rankings after winning the SheBelieves Cup as England moved ahead of Germany into second place.

The Americans went unbeaten in the four-team round-robin tournament they hosted this month.

England, who lost the final game 1-0 to the U.S., were runners-up and climbed one place in the rankings released Friday.

It was the first tournament for Phil Neville, who was appointed England coach in late January.

Germany dropped to No. 3 after a last-place finish that cost coach Steffi Jones her job. The Germans were ranked in the top two for almost 10 years.

Canada and France, the 2019 World Cup host, rose one place to fourth and fifth, respectively. Australia fell two places to No. 6.

North Korea climbed one place to No. 10, and No. 11 Japan fell out of the top 10 for the first time since 2007.
