Bayern Munich score 20 goals in friendly to end preseason training camp

Bayern Munich ended their training camp in southern Bavaria by scoring 20 goals against local minnows Rottach-Egern, with Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski, Sandro Wagner and youngster Maximilian Franzke all scoring a hat trick in the 20-2 win.

Head coach Niko Kovac fielded 22 players, but wantaway defender Jerome Boateng did not feature because of what sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic claimed were "problems with his patella tendon."

Ten different players scored, with 13 goals scored after half-time in the rout, held four days before Bayern face Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Supercup.

James Rodriguez made his first appearance in preseason following thigh problems, but Boateng sat out amid reports he is edging closer to a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Under contract at Bayern until 2021, Boateng is set to leave the German champions after seven years. On Tuesday, he reportedly rejected a move to Manchester United, informing manager Jose Mourinho on the phone.

Salihamidzic, who has acted defensive throughout the ongoing transfer saga, however, did not want to comment on or confirm the phone call.

"I don't know anything about this," Salihamidzic told reporters. "Nobody talked to me."

Meanwhile, Bild reported on Thursday that Boateng's agent, former Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger, is set for another round of negotiations with PSG sporting director Antero Henrique.

Bayern Munich reportedly are demanding a transfer fee in the €50 million region for the defender, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons.
