Bayer Leverkusen missed out on the chance to go second in the Bundesliga as they were held 4-4 by Hannover in an eight-goal thriller.
Julian Brandt gave Leverkusen the lead in the 11th minute but it was shortlived as Ihlas Bebou had Hannover level a minute later.
Niclas Fuellkrug scored a penalty 10 minutes later to put Hannover in front before Admir Mehmedi levelled the game on 25 minutes.
The half ended with Hannover edging in front 3-2 thanks to Felix Klaus but two minutes after the break Leon Bailey had Leverkusen on level terms again.

Bailey then gave the visitors the lead on 67 minutes only for Julian Korb to rescue a point for Hannover with seven minutes remaining in their final Bundesliga game of 2017.
Following the game Hannover fans addressed their fans with a banner that read: "We need you. The whole stadium."
