Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 'Positive' Alexandre Lacazette helped me to settle

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said Alexandre Lacazette's "positive" attitude helped him settle in when he arrived at the Emirates Stadium in January.

Aubameyang, who overtook Lacazette as Arsenal's record signing, initially pushed him out of the starting lineup after completing his move from Borussia Dortmund.

But manager Arsene Wenger started the two together for the first time at Newcastle on Sunday, with Aubameyang setting up Lacazette for Arsenal's goal in a 2-1 loss.

"My friend Lacazette was at Lyon when I was at Saint-Etienne," former Borussia Dortmund striker Aubameyang told Arsenal's official website.

"He's a player I appreciate and was good for me when I arrived here as he's a nice person, very positive.

"I wasn't 100 percent sure about him when I came here as there were some Lyon players I didn't get on well with -- but he wasn't someone I had problems with when I played against them.

"I'm really happy to get to know someone so positive, and he helped me settle into the dressing room."

The two strikers have not had many chances to play together so far, with Lacazette having been sidelined by a knee injury and Aubameyang cup-tied in the Europa League.
