Manchester City can still be caught- Arsenal's Granit Xhaka

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka thinks it is possible that Manchester City can slip up, despite their near-perfect start to the Premier League season.

Arsenal are 12 points behind Pep Guardiola's side, who have only dropped two points in 12 matches, but Xhaka was optimistic when asked about the prospects of competing for the title.

"I think in football everything is possible," Xhaka told Sky Sports. "Manchester City, at the moment, are on a very good run, they're doing very well and others have dropped points -- which they haven't done -- but it's conceivable that they could drop points as well."

Arsenal lost 3-1 at City before the international break but regained some momentum by beating Tottenham 2-0 at home on Saturday.

Many are now wondering whether City can emulate Arsenal's 2003-04 unbeaten league run, but Xhaka said the current Gunners are only worried about their own performances.

"They might not continue as they have been," Xhaka said of City. "But our aim is just to focus on ourselves. We know we need to work and we're convinced that we can compete at the top.

"Everything's possible, I'm a person who thinks realistically but has dreams and fantasies as well. In football, everything is always possible."
