Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis was paid a bonus of nearly £1 million this year despite the club missing out on Champions League football.
The financial statement for 2016-17 sent to Arsenal shareholders this week reveals that Gazidis received £919,000, taking his total pay packet to £2.6m.
Both the bonus and the overall pay are similar to the previous year, even though Arsenal fell out of the Premier League top four for first time in Arsene Wenger's 20-year reign.
The Gunners also failed to tie down star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to new contracts, meaning both can leave for free next summer.
However, the club did win a third FA Cup in four years, beating Chelsea in the final in May, and posted a pre-tax profit of £44.6m for the financial year.
Arsenal's fifth-place finish meant the players missed out on Champions League bonuses, which usually make up a significant portion of their overall salaries.
Fans have grown increasingly frustrated with Gazidis after he promised that last season's struggles last season would be "a catalyst for change."
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke gave Wenger a new two-year contract, while plans to hire a director of football were shelved after the manager opposed the idea.
