Mali find late winner; Zimbabwe cruise in Africans Nations Cup qualifying

Mustapha Yatabare scored in the 89th minute to give Mali a 1-0 win at Equatorial Guinea in African Nations Cup qualifying on Monday.

The Group C match appeared headed for a draw until Yatabare sent in a shot from distance with a minute to play.

Mali retook the lead in Group C by a point over Benin.

Zimbabwe took control of Group L with a 4-0 win over Swaziland.

Knowledge Musona, Costa Nhamoinesu, Evans Rusike and Khama Billiat were on the scoresheet as the hosts moved three points clear with two games to play.

Central African Republic rallied to defeat Madagascar 2-1 to take the lead in Group B.

Faneva Andriatsima had given Madagascar the lead in the first half, but the hosts responded through Salif Keita and Limane Moussa to take all three points.

They lead DR Congo by a point ahead of their game at Angola on Tuesday.

Libya earned their first points of the campaign with a commanding 4-0 win over Sao Tome e Principe in Group F.

All the goals came in the second half as Zalbiar netted a hat trick and Osama Abdusalam added a goal of his owm.

Tanzania's scheduled Group G game at home was cancelled after Chad withdrew from the competition on Sunday.

Chad's withdrawal means Egypt can win the group and eliminate Nigeria and Tanzania with a victory against the Nigerians in Alexandria on Tuesday.

Also on Monday, tournament hosts Gabon lost to Sierra Leone 1-0 in a friendly after Umaru Bangura's 15th-minute penalty.
