Aliou Dieng, Sekou Diarra help Mali overhaul Tunisia, Guinea beat Zambia

Second-half strikes from Aliou Dieng and Sekou Diarra helped Mali overturn a halftime deficit to beat Tunisia 2-1 in the African Nations Championship quarterfinals on Sunday.

Mohamed Ali Moncer's header had given Tunisia the lead in the 14th minute but Dieng's well-taken penalty 20 minutes from time brought the Malians back into the contest.

Diarra sealed the win in the dying minutes after cutting inside from the left and drilling past Tunisia keeper Rami Jeridi.

In Sunday's other match, Guinea beat Zambia 5-4 on penalties after the two sides could not break the deadlock in normal time.

Goalkeeper Abdul Aziz Keita was the hero for Guinea, saving Dauti Musekwa's goal-bound penalty before stepping up himself to convert the winning spot-kick.

Guinea will face RD Congo in the semifinals on Feb. 3, while Mali march on to a showdown with the Ivory Coast on Feb. 4.
