Cameroon to face Ivory Coast after winning African Nations group

Cameroon defeated DR Congo 3-1 on Monday to advance to the African Nations Championship quarterfinals as Group B winners.

Yazid Atouba opened the scoring for Cameroon five minutes before the break, only for Jean-Marc Makusu to equalise for DR Congo, who had already advanced, three minutes after play resumed.

But Cameroon were soon back on top through Moumi Ngamaleu and a third goal from Samuel Nlend sealed the result.

Cameroon will face Ivory Coast in the quarterfinals on Saturday, while DR Congo will play hosts Rwanda.

Cameroon's win ended any hope that Ethiopia had of advancing, and they went on to lose 2-1 to Angola in the second game of the day.

Ary Papel scored twice for Angola, and though Ethiopia got a goal back through Seyoum Tesfaye, they could not find an equaliser.
