AC Milan boss Gattuso 'angry' after comfortable win vs. Ludogorets

AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso admitted to being angry with his team despite a 3-0 road win against Ludogorets in the first leg of their round-of-32 Europa League tie on Thursday.

Goals from Patrick Cutrone, Ricardo Rodriguez and Fabio Borini put the Rossoneri in a very strong position to advance.

However, Gattuso, a former Milan midfielder, was not 100 percent pleased with the performance, telling Sky Sports Italia: "I wouldn't call it the perfect performance as we could have played better, even if it's always difficult in Europe.

"Ludogorets could have caused us problems, but we are holding on tight to this 3-0 result. I don't think it's a fair reflection of the game, because we could have done so much better.

"I am actually angry, as we didn't develop our attacking moves properly.

"What does reassure me is the growing confidence in the team, even among those who do not play as much. I want everyone to be ready and in good shape when called upon."

Gattuso was in a similar mood when asked about the likelihood that he'll be offered a contract extension at season's end.

He said: "I am just enjoying the dream of being Milan coach at the age of 40. I have a lot to learn.

"We will see what happens, but the important thing is not whether or not Gattuso is on the bench. What matters is Milan.

"I have been given this great chance. It is an immense honour and a dream that I hope will last as long as possible."

Cutrone notched his 13th goal of the season in the victory. At just 20 years old, he looks to have a bright future ahead, but played down comparisons to legendary Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi after the match.

"I am pleased, because he was a great Milan striker, but it's still too early for that sort of comparison," Cutrone said.

Of the match, he added: "I am happy with what we are doing and must always thank my team-mates for the goals I score.

"I lost the ball a few too many times today, but I'm working on it and eager to improve."
