Key fantasy soccer stats for Premier League Matchweek 13

Fantasy Soccer, Fantasy

Here are some key stats to consider regarding the top Premier League matches this weekend before selecting your fantasy team.

Match of the week: Tottenham vs. Chelsea

A key clash between top-four clubs this weekend features a bevy of choices at all tiers for your fantasy team this weekend. Looking at Tier 1 forwards, Harry Kane and Álvaro Morata are available for choosing and while Kane is coming off a game-winning goal for England in the UEFA Nations League, he may not be the play this weekend for your fantasy team.

Since scoring a brace against the Blues in January 2015, Kane has just two goals in his last eight meetings with Chelsea in all competitions and the four goals against Chelsea are his third-fewest against any team he's faced at least 10 times in all competitions. Meanwhile, Morata has scored five times in his last seven matches in all competitions, but he's scored just twice this season away from Stamford Bridge.

Tier 1 midfielder Eden Hazard has seven goals this season, tied for second-most in the Premier League, but has failed to score in each of his past three Premier League games for Chelsea, although that includes a substitute appearance against Crystal Palace in which he played just 26 minutes. His last goal against Spurs in league play came in May 2016 and he's been held to no goals on just four shots in his three meetings since.

So who should you choose from the game of the weekend? You can choose from a pair of Chelsea Tier 1 defenders:  Marcos Alonso or Antonio Rüdiger. Both players are averaging over 12 fantasy points per game during the past month and rank among the top scoring defenders in all of the Premier League in that time. On the Spurs side, Dele Alli has scored five goals in his last four matches against Chelsea in all competitions.

West Ham vs. Manchester City

Manchester City have yet to taste defeat in the Premier League this season and they have scored at least one goal in 11 of 12 games. City face off with a West Ham squad that's allowing 1.5 goals per game this season, tied for sixth-worst in the league. What does that mean? Load up on Sergio Agüero in Tier 1. He's scored 8 goals against West Ham in 13 matches in all competitions and has six goals in his last eight matches for City.

David Silva is the play for your Tier 1 midfielder. He's scored in his past three matches for City in all competitions and he's appeared on the scoresheet in each of his past three meetings with West Ham in all competitions. David Silva has been directly involved in eight goals in his 11 PL matches against West Ham, with four strikes and four assists. He only has a better record against Newcastle United in the competition, having been involved in nine goals.

Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

If your Manchester blood runs red and you can't put a City forward in your lineup, you won't find a hotter player in the Premier League right now than Tier 1 forward Anthony Martial. He's scored in each of his last five matches for United and has six goals in that stretch. He is halfway to Ruud Van Nistelrooy's club record of 10 straight league matches with a goal, but he's yet to score in five games against Crystal Palace. No player in the Premier League has a better shot conversion rate than Martial's 46 percent since the start of October.

As you look to fill your Tier 3 midfield spot, this could be the game to do it. Andros Townsend has just one goal and no assists this season, but he's recorded at least one shot on target in each of his past five league matches and Manchester United have conceded the third-most fantasy points to opposing midfielders this season. Townsend scored the last time these two clubs met, an 11th-minute strike in a match Palace would eventually lose 3-2.

Romelu Lukaku is currently on an 835-minute scoreless drought for Man United in all competitions (almost 14 hours of game time); his last goal for the club in any competition came on September 15 vs Watford. However, Lukaku has scored in six of his past eight PL appearances against Palace, including both for Man United last season.
