Shaka Hislop's fantasy picks for the Premier League weekend

Fantasy, Fantasy Soccer

ESPN's new fantasy game continues this weekend, but don't worry if you have yet to sign up. You can start whenever you want -- and that applies not only to our Premier League game but to the Champions League, La Liga and Liga MX too.

To help you make up your mind about your eight-man team, we've enlisted the help of ESPN FC TV pundit Shaka Hislop, to pick out a player from each of the tiers.

Check out our detailed breakdown of the scoring system to make sure you're picking your team with this in mind. Get your mates involved ahead of this weekend's round of games and play each other each week in a head-to-head match.

Every week, you'll submit a new team, or you can stick with the same eight but only if they are still in the same tiers. So make sure you're always checking and selecting the best team to beat your rival each week.

Let's take a look at who Shaka has picked for this weekend. And, just as importantly, why.

This is what Shaka had to say:

Tier 1 forward -- Alexandre Lacazette: Arsenal are on a great run of late, with Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both in great form. With Leicester coming to North London, and Wes Morgan suspended, I believe there'll be opportunities for Lacazette in the middle of the box.

Tier 2 forward -- Joshua King: Bournemouth haven't fared too well against Southampton of late, so I may be taking a chance here. But Eddie Howe really has Bournemouth playing well, and Southampton have... well... found it hard going. I'm backing King to deliver Bournemouth's second-ever Premier League win vs. Southampton.

Tier 1 midfielder -- Eden Hazard (captain): You can guarantee that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will have a plan for Hazard this weekend, but I feel that he will be playing with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. In this form I'm expecting Hazard to have a lot to say for himself -- and that's why he's my captain too.

Tier 2 midfielder -- Jorginho: I expect Manchester United to sit off Chelsea at the Bridge, giving Jorginho the room he relishes in midfield.

Tier 3 midfielder -- Ruben Neves: Wolves at home is always a decent bet. And with Watford struggling -- they are without Daryl Janmaat and Jose Holebas -- as they have been I'm backing Neves to be the decider, in what may prove to be a closer game than the form book suggests.

Tier 1 defender -- Benjamin Mendy: Don't expect Burnley to trouble Manchester City too much going forward, giving Mendy the opportunity to not only defend higher up the park, but utilize his well timed runs to really trouble the opposition.

Tier 2 defender -- Steve Cook: This was a tough choice for me, more to do with which players were available, and looking for big points returns. I feel that Bournemouth vs. Southampton may be close, but I'm backing Cook to be worked, come up big, and Bournemouth to win.

Goalkeeper -- Ederson: Manchester City at home to Burnley may not see Ederson overworked, but he'll be involved as always. Clean sheet surely.
