Shanghai Dragons sign Levi to round out OWL coaching staff

The Shanghai Dragons announced the signing of assistant coach Jeong "Levi" Chung-hyeok on Monday to complete their coaching staff ahead of Season 2 of the Overwatch League.

The team had previously announced the signing of coach Wi "BlueHaS" Seung-hwan along with six new players.

Levi is a former player who began his career with the South Korean team Rhinos Titan, playing alongside Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom, who now plays for the Seoul Dynasty. Levi later moved into coaching, joining Element Mystic and helping lead the team to a third-place finish at the Nexus Cup Annual Finals.

Levi will now join forces with BlueHaS, the former leader of the South Korean powerhouse KongDoo Panthera.

The Dragons have undergone a massive overhaul after finishing Season 1 0-40. DPS player Weida "Diya" Lu is the only Chinese player remaining, with the roster now featuring eight South Korean players, including Kim "Geguri" Se-yeon, the first female to compete in the OWL.

Shanghai's roster includes main tank Lee "Fearless" Eui-seok; DPS players Bae "diem" Min-seong, Yang "DDing" Jin-kyeok and Jin "YOUNGJIN" Young-jin; flex player Jo "GuardiaN" Jun-hwan; and supports Yang "Luffy" Seong-hyeon and Son "CoMa" Kyung-woo.

"All of the Shanghai Dragons players have arrived in Shanghai and have already begun intense preparations for battle," the team announced Monday. "We are confident that under the leadership of these three coaches, the nine Shanghai Dragons players, Diya, diem, YOUNGJIN, DDing, Fearless, Geguri, GuardiaN, Luffy, and CoMa, will be able to stay positive, keep growing, and build up experience to rise above others and deliver a better performance in the League."
