Energy pummels Bravado to claim ESL African Championship

Kwese Gamer

The ESL African Championship came to a very exciting end this weekend at rAge, as the top two teams battled it out to be crowned the first ever champions of the ESL African Championship at rAge.

In one of the most tightly fought matches, South Africa's Energy eSports beat the Limitless.gg 2:0, securing them a spot in the final. The other spot fill was filled by Bravado, who beat Vibora 2:0.

A South African final wasn't exactly what everybody had hoped for, but it clear that the South African teams performed the best in the Championship.

This was the 14th time that Bravado had locked horns with Energy, and in those matchups Energy has only been victorious twice.

But the final was all about Energy.

The tone of the game was quickly set by Energy, pulling no punches straight out of the gate. At half-time on the first map (Cache), Energy built up a 6:0 lead.

It practically went all downhill from there, as Energy claimed the first two map and only had to secure a third for overall victory.

Sensing some real trouble up ahead, Bravado did show some resistance in the third map (Inferno), but it wasn't enough.

In round 11, Energy took the map with a score of 16:10, with captain Black Poison doing most of the damage when it matters. With that said, the final round could have gone either way, as only Takbok and BlackPoison was alive for Energy, while Bravado's Detrony was the last man standing between their victory and another round.

The final score was 3:0 to Energy eSports.
