Lauren 'Pansy' Scott and Jason 'Moses' O'Toole to cast at ESL African Championship

esports

Kwesé Gamer and ESL Africa are proud to announce that international esports casters Lauren 'Pansy' Scott and Jason 'Moses' O'Toole will be attending the annual rAge expo for the ESL African Championship final.

The ESL African Championship finals, to be held from 6 - 8 October, will see the top two North African teams face off against the best two South African teams.

The entire spectacle will be streamed live on the Kwesé Gamer Facebook page and ESL Africa's Twitch channel.

Scott and O'Toole will lend their casting abilities and trademark style to the talent deck of the grand finals, alongside a host of local commentators, panelists and analysts.

Lauren 'Pansy' Scott

The 27-year-old British national contracted to ESL has been involved in esports for over 10 years, and started casting from her bedroom before the word 'esports' entered the main English lexicon.

Casting the Battlefield franchise, World of Tanks and Dirty Bomb, Scott is most widely known for her Counter-Strike: Global Offensive casting ability.

"Most people know me from casting games like CS:GO and Call of Duty or Enemy Territory depending on how old you are, but my casting career hasn't always reflected what I was playing during my evenings. I have been a huge fan of military sim games from around 2011 when I first picked up ARMA 2's expansion pack Operation Arrowhead," Scott explained to ESL.

Most recently Scott was the main caster and host for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Invitational at this year's Gamescom, and commentator for ESL One: New York 2017.

"I missed that gritty feeling ARMA games gave me, then we heard about Battlegrounds. Fast forward from where it started to where it is now, I have put in more hours than anyone that I know and my reward is knowing that I hate people who go to Pochinki and keep a shotgun late game."

Additionally, Scott has been in the driving seat for some of the biggest ESL tournament in the world, which includes ESL One: Cologne 2014 - 2017, Intel Extreme Masters XI - Oakland, and this year's Intel Extreme Masters XI - World Championship.

Jason 'Moses' O'Toole

O'Toole started his professional career at the very young age of 16, playing for United 5 in North America. One of the premier tournaments that United5 played in, was the 2003 CPL Winter Championship - where United5 placed 7th.

After a somewhat lengthy playing career, O'Toole realised that he still wanted to be involved in esports but couldn't spend around 45 hours a week practising or competing.

Making the decision to step away from tournaments as a competitive player, he contacted a local team and asked if he could broadcast some of their games as a hobby. Through hard work and dedication, O'Toole managed to evolve into an anchor, analyst and commentator for Room on Fire, a freelance casting team based in the USA.

As O'Toole explained to MLG's Chris Puckett, "it all just blew up from there. It wasn't something planned or expected. The game just got to that level."

Also known as the 'Bald Eagle', the former professional Counter-Strike 1.6 player has some high-profile casting gigs under his belt.

This year alone he served as an analyst for PGL Major Kraków 2017's Offline Qualifier, a commentator for ESL One: Cologne 2017, and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017. Most recently he served as commentator for ESL One: New York 2017.

Other than commentating at the ESL African Championship finals at rAge, O'Toole will also be attending ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017 in October as a commentator and analyst, and in November will be serving as commentator for ESL Pro League Season 6 - North America.
