Suning Gaming defeated JD Gaming 2-0 in Shanghai to kick off the final day of the League of Legends Pro League Summer Split.

Moving into the series, both Suning Gaming (6-9, 16-23 match record) and JD Gaming had their playoff dreams on the line. With both records neck and neck, JD Gaming (6-9, 16-20 match record) needed to claim a victory to clinch a spot in the playoffs, while Suning Gaming hoped to find the victory for itself, putting it one step closer to the playoffs, with its fate reliant on LGD losing its coming series.

SNG found itself falling behind early in Game 1 thanks to a series of over-aggressive maneuvers, yet the team refused to halt its pace. With JDG answering back in equally aggressive fashion, fights broke out constantly. This ended up favoring SNG as AD carry Lee "Fury" Jin-yong quickly dominated on Tristana. Shining among the chaos, Fury was able to continuously survive in his team's skirmishes, despite everyone falling around him. As the contest crept into the late game, he became an absolutely unstoppable force, participating in 94 percent of his team's kills in the 41-minute win.

Game 2 saw a similar start once again, with JDG finding the upper hand off the back of mid laner Kim "Doinb" Tae Sang's Lucian. After quickly finding a three level lead for himself in lane, Doinb quickly shut down his competition, gaining sole control of the lane. JDG continued to dump resources into the middle lane and shut down the enemy Kassadin, but unfortunately the maneuver backfired as SNG simply found leads elsewhere on the map. With Fury once again on Tristana, he quietly picked up kills left and right, amassing an extremely large lead. Instead of beginning to focus on the new threat, JDG opted to continuously push for Doinb to become the team's only threat. SNG saw this as a massive missed opportunity and struck, forcing fights and quickly eliminating the lone threat. Falling in back-to-back teamfights, JDG could do nothing but watch as SNG would secure the 27-minute victory, and with that, see its playoff hopes slip through the cracks.

Although SNG was able to pick up a convincing 2-0 series victory to knock JDG out of playoff contention, the team will await the result of OMG vs LGD to see if its season ends here. With such a convincing performance, it would be a shame if the team was unable to compete in playoffs. Nevertheless, SNG will not make playoffs unless LGD loses its series later tonight.
