Season 2 of ESL African Championship kicks off with North and South African matches

Now that the relegation matches for the first season of the ESL African Championship is out of the way, the top eight teams from North and South Africa can officially get down to business.

In South Africa, the eight teams that will be competing for a spot in the finals are:

  • Bravado Gaming (who placed first in the group stages)

  • Energy eSports (who came second in the group stages)

  • Damage Control - CSGO (who placed third in the group stages)

  • Big 5 eSports (who placed fourth in the group stages)

  • EXDEE GAMING (who beat Orgless Gaming in Relegation to progress)

  • xTc Gaming (who beat PLT-PuLse in Relegation to progress)

  • Flipsid3 Africa (who beat Southern5 in Relegation to progress)

The only newcomer to the ESL African Championship roster is Goliath Gaming, who managed to beat VexxedPhoenix in the Relegation stages to secure a spot in season 2's group games.

The North African teams that made it through from the open qualifiers to the North African group stages are:

  • Fractals

  • No Relation Team

  • Generation Digital

  • Limitless.gg

  • KappaMa

  • Drinkpizza

  • TUNISIA WITH LOVE

  • VIBORA

The teams that will be tackling each other in the first group stage games tonight are No Relation Team versus KappaMa, and Limitless.gg versus TUNISIA WITH LOVE.

In South Africa, Energy eSports will be going up against Goliath Gaming, while Bravado will be going head-to-head with EXDEE GAMING.

The best two teams from the South African group stages will face off against the best two teams from the North African group stages at the finals in October.

With North African and South African matches running concurrently, one South African match will be streamed (Energy eSports vs. Goliath Gaming), while the match between Limitless.gg vs. TUNISIA WITH LOVE will be streamed on the same channel at 21:30.
