It wasn't pretty, but KT Rolster managed to come away with a 2-1 victory over bbq Olivers on Friday in Seoul, South Korea to open Week 8, Day 4 in League of Legends Champions Korea. KT took a double AD carry composition into the first game of this series with Lucian for mid laner Heo "PawN" Won-seok and Twitch for AD carry Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu. The composition worked well enough for KT, allowing it to snag first blood for an early lead. While things went back and forth afterwards, KT found a double kill at the 19-minute mark to take a 2,000-gold lead into the midgame. KT then easily picked up the first Baron at 26 minutes before the teams traded bunches of kills. Despite giving up four kills during the buff's duration, KT still managed to push its lead to 8,000 gold by 33 minutes. At that point, all that was needed was a second Baron for KT that led to a clean ace to give way to a 35-minute win for KT. KT came into the second game with some strong pick potential against the late game focused composition of bbq. It started out well for KT, who picked up two towers and a kill advantage at 20 minutes before setting up for an early Baron. Inexplicably, though, KT allowed bbq support Eun "Totoro" Jong-Seop's Braum to steal the Baron at 24 minutes, sending KT into a tailspin. From then on, KT couldn't seem to do anything right as bbq continued scaling into the late game, all while picking up objectives left and right. KT finally secured a Baron kill 51 minutes in, but bbq already had taken three Barons of its own, plus an Elder Dragon, giving it enough power to clean up one last fight on the back of a triple kill from AD carry Jang "Ghost" Yong-jun's Varus to take the 55-minute win. As bbq swiftly learned in Game 3, the Rift hath no fury like a KT scorned. After letting Game 2 slip away, KT came out of the gates with a vengeance, picking up a solo kill just two minutes in before Deft, again on Ashe, picked up a double kill in the bottom lane just a couple minutes later. From then on, KT ran rampant all over the map, taking an 8-1 advantage in kills, 6-to-0 edge in towers, and a 10,000-gold lead by 20 minutes. While it somehow managed to give up a Baron yet again, that didn't stop KT from biding its time and taking the next Baron at 28 minutes to easily wrap up the 29-minute win.
