ESPN is returning to the Evolution Championship Series and this time Disney is coming, too. ESPNU and Disney XD will air the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U final and ESPN2 will air the Street Fighter V championship on Sunday from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas this weekend.

This marks the first time ESPN has broadcast a live Nintendo game tournament and the first live broadcast of any kind on Disney XD. The Super Smash Bros. for Wii U final begins at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday then ESPN2 will then air the Street Fighter V final rounds beginning at 10 p.m. ET.

The annual three-day fighting game tournament is the largest of its kind in the world, and Street Fighter V is the main event this year while Super Smash Bros. has a long history and is a beloved game in the fighting game community.

"Fighting games bring a tremendous level of hype and excitement, and Evo's mission is to share that experience with fans worldwide," Joey Cueller, president of Evo, said in a statment. "We're pleased to team up with ESPN and Disney to bring these games to new audiences."

Evo kicked off Friday and features Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Injustice 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, The King of Fighters XIV and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, in addition to Street Fighter V.

The finals for each game will be spread out between Saturday and Sunday.

ESPN will also stream a $75,000 Rocket League tournament at X Games Minneapolis this weekend. X Games begins Thursday and runs through Sunday.

This is the latest esports event to air on ESPN networks. ESPN has broadcast several esports events in the past, including SFV at Evo last year and the Capcom Cup in December, Madden NFL 16 Championship, Heroes of the Storm, Halo and FIFA 17.
