Tonight's ESL African Championship: Energy eSports vs. xTc Gaming

esports

This week the ESL African Championship will officially be past the halfway mark of the tournament, and things are really starting to heat up for all the teams involved.

Playday 4 on Monday saw some of the top-ranked teams take on their rivals, with Bravado Gaming being the first to break the 10-points mark.

Sitting comfortably second on the overall standings, Energy eSports has a very good chance of taking the lead as they take on xTc Gaming in the second matchup for the night.

Energy has won all of their matches in the tournament, while xTc Gaming is currently fifth on the log with one win and two losses.

The Energy eSports vs xTc Gaming match should get underway around 21:30.

But before that, the first match of the night will see VexxedPhoenix take on EXDEE GAMING at 19:00.

Could this possibly be the night where Vexxed actually win a match?

While the team has been pushing really hard throughout all the maps, they just haven't been able to pull through.

Their previous three matches all went into overtime, eventually succumbing to the opposing side around every bend.

EXDEE's track record in ESL African Championship isn't much better, which could make it easier for Vexxed to pull through.

Of the three matches that EXDEE so far, they have only managed one draw with two losses. In comparison, Vexxed has lost all three matches.

On the bright side, one team will finally clock their first win in the tournament.

All the group stages and the final will be live streamed and can be viewed on the ESL Africa Facebook page and on the official ESL CS:GO Twitch website. If you want to rewatch (or watch the matches for the first time), you can check it out here.

We have also created an ESL African Championship hub, where you can view the current standings, all the fixtures and the latest articles for both the CS:GO tournament as well as the Hearthstone tournament.
