Norwegian Madsen confirmed for EFC 75

Undefeated Norwegian Torbjøn Madsen has been confirmed to fight Mzwandile Hlongwa at EFC 75 in Cape Town.

Madsen, who holds a perfect 5-0 record, fights out of Bergen Grappling back home, but represents PFA in Cape Town when on South African soil.

In his EFC debut he faced hardened veteran Bruno Mukulu and claimed victory early, in the second round. Madsen has since returned to Norway to complete his degree in psychology.

A threat with his heavy hands and devastating ground and pound, Madsen's future as a title challenger in the stacked middleweight division is firing.

Hlongwa came to fame as a contestant on the reality MMA show, The Fighter - Season 1. One of two South Africans on the show, he quickly became a fan favourite.

While it was Brendan Lesar that ultimately won, 'Snakebone' impressed and returned to the Hexagon to rack up another two finishes over strong opposition.

Also holding an undefeated record, he recently made the move from his hometown Durban to Junkyard MMA in Johannesburg. He brings a punishing Karate style that has stopped almost all his opponents.

Meanwhile, Luke Michael has been forced to withdraw after getting injured in training.

He was on the main card to fight England's Joe Cummins, but will now be replaced by teammate-turned-bitter-rival Armand Scheepers.

Scheepers is a Cape Town crowd favourite who has featured in bouts across multiple weight divisions.

After a bad-blood build-up to a fight against Michael a few months ago, he controversially missed weight and the bout was subsequently cancelled. More recently he went head-to head with Pietie Coxen and defeated him by armbar in the first.

Known as 'Little Wanderlei', a moniker synonymous with his reputation, Scheepers is fearless, hard-hitting and his fighting style is backed-up by phenomenal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
