India's Asian Games continues on day three with trap, air pistol and air rifle events in shooting, while Greco-Roman wrestling will be making its first appearance in Jakarta. A rare Indian achiever in swimming also takes to the pool, but finds himself placed in the same bracket as a surprise Olympic champion and legend-killer in the men's freestyle event.
Archers begin their campaign
Deepika Kumari's departure for Indonesia was delayed due to fever by five days, but she is reported to be fit for action on the first day of archery, a sport where India have experienced intermittent success in the past. The recurve team and individual events for both men and women begin on Tuesday, and the team events in particular will stretch both squads - the men are ranked below South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Japan, China and Malaysia, while Korea, Taipei and China are all ranked above the women. Korea, Taipei and Japan also lead the mixed-team rankings, another field that starts on Tuesday.

Virdhawal takes to the pool
There are seven gold medals on offer in the swimming pool on Tuesday, but expect India's principal challenge to come in the 50m freestyle, where Virdhawal Khade and Anshul Kothari are spearheading the Indian challenge. Khade has success at this level before, having picked up a 50m butterfly bronze in Guangzhou in 2010. He was just 19 then, but is a more experienced swimmer now and has been placed alongside Singapore's Joseph Schooling - who beat Michael Phelps to gold at the Rio Games - in his heat.

More shooting medals in prospect
Shooting has delivered India at least one medal on each of the first two days in Jakarta, and that trend could continue with the events on Tuesday. Lakshay, who won silver in the men's trap, teams up with Shreyasi Singh for the mixed trap event, while India's 50m air rifle 3 position challenge will be spearheaded by the experienced Sanjeev Rajput and youngster Akhil Sheoran. The 10m air pistol event will see Abhishek Verma and Saurabh Chaudhary hoping to add to India's medals.

Divya's moment in the spotlight
The penultimate day of wrestling competition will see Indian participation in all four weight categories - the first two in Greco-Roman for men and the remaining two weight categories for women. The biggest medal prospect lies with Divya Kakran, the 20-year-old in the women's 68kg category. She won a silver at the last Asian Championships, and will be eager to erase the memories of missing out on gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where she had to settle for bronze.
