South African Premier Soccer League side BidVest Wits have announced the signing of three players, including Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo and former Ajax Cape Town playmaker Bantu Mzwakali.

Chippa United forward Mxolisi Macuphu has signed on for coach Gavin Hunt's side as the 2016/17 Absa Premiership winners seek to overhaul their squad after a disappointing campaign in defence of their title.

All three players have essentially arrived from Chippa United, where Mhlongo was on loan from Pirates last season.

He will be back-up to number one Darren Keet, filling the void left by Moneeeb Josephs' departure to AmaZulu.

Mzwakali spent the last six months at Chippa after signing from Ajax midway through the season and brings creativity to the midfield.

He is a player of great quality with the ball at his feet, but just six league goals in five seasons tells the other side of his game, where his finishing is below par.

In fact, his former coach at Ajax, Roger de Sa, joked the player would be at Real Madrid if he could get the ball into the back of the net, such are his other qualities.

Macuphu was another January arrival at Chippa and scored four goals in 11 league starts as he impressed in the second half of the campaign.
