Midfielder Sbusiso Shibane has become the latest South African youngster to move to Portugal, after signing for top-flight side Vitoria Setubal on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Under-20 international is a product of the KwaZulu-Natal Academy, which has also sent the likes of Thabo Cele (Real SC, on loan from Benfica) and Sphephelo Sithole (Sporting Lisbon) to Portugal in the last year.

"The KZN Football Academy would like to with great pride to announce that Sbusiso Shibane has signed for Victoria Setubal in Portugal," the academy said on their official Facebook page.

"The Academy works tirelessly to create opportunities for our players with the objective of not only changing their lives, their family and their community as a role models of what you are able to achieve if you the talent, work hard, are committed and determined to succeed in life.

"We also look forward to seeing Sbu in the future representing our Bafana Bafana at the highest level."

The relaxed work permit laws, and a style of football that suits SA's players, has seen Portugal become a top destination for Mzansi's talent in recent years.

Bafana Bafana youngsters Luther Singh (Sporting Braga) and Liam Jordan (Sporting Lisbon) also campaign in the country, along with a number of budding hopefuls in the lower leagues.
