Kano Pillars recorded yet another win on Tuesday, on the second day of the 2016/17 Kwesé Premier Basketball League Savannah Conference 6 playoffs as they thumped Kada Stars 91-58 in Kaduna to follow up their opening win against Gombe Bulls.

Azouma Dika of Kano Pillars was the game's standout player, recording 21 points, while teammate Joseph Nwafor recorded a game-high 12 rebounds.

Pillars were dominant in all four game quarters, ensuring Kada Stars were on the back foot for the duration of the contest.

The first quarter was embarrassingly one-sided, with Kano Pillars winning 23-4, before then extending their lead in the second quarter 50-23.

They were 65-41 up after the third quarter 65-41 before extending their advantage even further in the fourth.

The massive 33-point win for Sani Ahmad's side, coming on the back of Monday's 104-97 victory over Gombe Bulls, highlights their superiority in the Conference.

In other results from Kaduna on Tuesday, Plateau Peaks were 62-47 winners over Bauchi Net, Gombe Bulls extended their winless streak with a 106-105 extra-time defeat by Niger Potters.

The result came as a shock for the hitherto dominant Bulls, who trailed the opening two quarters 25-21, 48-46 against Niger Potters before rallying back to win the third quarter 70-64 only to find themselves tied 90-90 at full time.

Kator Gar was the leading scorer for Bulls, recording 26 points, while Potters' Sabo Gabriel led the game's scoring with 29 points.

The six teams will observe a day of rest on Wednesday, before action resumes on Thursday in the final run-in.
