Forward Oyeleye Mojubaoluwa was the standout player, contributing 20 points and 12 rebounds as Kwara Falcons defeated NAF Rockets 70-62 in the Kwesé Premier League on Saturday.

In a game of two halves, NAF Rockets were clearly the better team in the opening minutes of the first quarter, racing to an 11-4 lead after 7:14 on the clock.

Falcons rallied back amid a high number of turnovers and uncoordinated play from the Ilorin-based team to trail NAF Rockets 20-19 at the end of the first quarter.

Falcons coach Adewunmi Aderemi brought on Alimi Lanre off the bench in the second quarter but the forward recorded three turnovers in the 1:38 he played, his game eventually ending in the quarter.

Emeka Ajaegbu of Rockets led the scoring for his team in the second quarter, contributing eight points as NAF won the quarter 41-32, much to the frustration of coach Aderemi who demanded more from his team.

Having won the first half, Rockets were disappointing in the third quarter recording a miserly haul of six points. Mojubaoluwa came into his element during the quarter, continuing from where he left off from Thursday night, recording 10 points and producing a big block to complete the turnaround for Falcons, who won the quarter 52-47.

Ossai Godspower complimented Mojubaoluwa's effort in the third quarter, recording 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead Falcons to a 70-62 win, a result which keeps them second on the table behind leaders Rivers Hoopers.
