171 - The previous-best ODI score for England, by Alex Hales against Pakistan in 2016. Jason Roy's 180 is now England's best, and it is also among the top two in a few other categories: no batsman has scored more in a run-chase in Australia, or in any ODI at the MCG. In fact, the only higher score in an ODI in Australia is Chris Gayle's 215 versus Zimbabwe in Canberra in the 2015 World Cup, and the only higher score against Australia is Rohit Sharma's 209.
180 - The most runs made by any batsman in a run-chase outside Asia. Martin Guptill made 180 too, but was unbeaten in a chase against South Africa in Hamilton last year. Roy fell just five short of equalling the highest score in a chase in any ODI: Shane Watson made an unbeaten 185 against Bangladesh in 2011.
296 - The previous-highest target successfully chased in an ODI at the MCG; that was Australia against India in 2016. In fact, the three highest successful chases at this ground before today were all by Australia, against India, England and New Zealand. This is England's seventh successful chase of a 300-plus target, of which five have happened since the 2015 World Cup. It is also England's highest winning run-chase by far in Australia; their previous best was only 253.
221 - The partnership between Roy and Joe Root, England's best for the third wicket in ODIs. The previous record stood for almost 27 years: Graeme Hick and Neil Fairbrother had added 213 against West Indies way back in 1991. The 221-run partnership is also the second-best in any run-chase in Australia, and also second in an ODI at the MCG.
5 - Batsmen who have passed 150 twice in chases - Roy had also scored 162 against Sri Lanka in 2016. The others in this elite group are Quinton de Kock, Sanath Jayasuriya, Virat Kohli and Watson.
32 - Balls for Roy's 50, the quickest in ODIs for an England batsman against Australia. His 92-ball century equals England's second-fastest against them. Only Eoin Morgan, who got an 85-ball hundred against Australia in 2010, has a quicker century.
4.2 - Overs taken by England to get their first 50 runs, their fastest in ODIs since 2002. Their previous fastest was off 4.4 overs, against India in Southampton in 2011, though that was a 23-overs-per-side game. England's five-over score of 57 is also their highest in this period.
5 - Hundreds for Aaron Finch in 24 innings in international matches against England - four of those hundreds have been in ODIs, and one in a T20 international. He averages 54.52 in these matches against England, and 33.54 against all other teams, with five centuries in 91 innings.
