Munro: first batsman to hit two T20I tons in a year

NZ in IND 2017-18, Cricket

4 - Number of batsmen to score two centuries in T20Is. Colin Munro joined his former captain Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis in this elite club. Munro had earlier smashed 101 off 54 balls against Bangladesh in January, which means he is the only batsman with two T20I tons in the same year. Apart from the two centuries this year, Munro has managed just seven runs, including three ducks, in four other innings.

3 - Batsmen to score centuries against India in T20Is. Before Munro, Lewis (who had hit two centuries) and Shane Watson had scored hundreds. However, Munro is the first to hit a T20I ton against India in India. The previous highest T20I score against India in India was 91 by McCullum in Chennai in 2012.

4/34 - Trent Boult's figures in this game - his career-best in T20Is. This is the first time he has taken more than three wickets. Incidentally, he had endured his worst ODI and T20I outings over the last week.

4 - Instances of India failing to chase down a target in T20Is at home, out of 12 chases. Incidentally, three of those instances have come against New Zealand. In fact, New Zealand have set target against India in India three times and they have been successful in the defence each time: Chennai 2012, Nagpur 2016 and this game. Overall, this 40-run loss is India's third- biggest when batting second.

53 - Runs conceded by Mohammed Siraj, on his T20I debut. It's the third-most runs conceded by any bowler on T20I debut. James Anderson had given away 64 and Joginder Sharma 57, both in 2007.

6.50 - Combined economy rate of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They conceded 52 runs in eight overs without taking a wicket. All other India bowlers combined conceded 142 runs in 12 overs at 11.83 an over.

7055 - Runs for Virat Kohli in T20s. He became the first Indian and eighth overall to complete 7000 runs in the format. Among the eight, only Gayle (192 innings) got there in fewer innings than Kohli's 212. The India captain also became the second-highest run-getter in T20Is.
